A Monroe man has been sentenced to almost 4 years in federal prison for his role in a large indoor marijuana growing operation in Maine.
According to court records, Paul Ford, 33, of Monroe, Maine, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to manufacture marijuana and manufacturing marijuana on May 7, 2013. Ford was sentenced yesterday in U.S. District Court by Chief Judge John A. Woodcock, Jr. to 46 months in prison and 5 years of supervised release.
The investigation revealed that from approximately 2006 until November of 2011, Ford and other family members operated a large and sophisticated indoor marijuana growing operation out of the defendant’s parents’ home in Monroe, Maine. The defendant also operated a separate indoor marijuana growing operation at his residence in Swanville, Maine.
The investigation was conducted by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office and the Maine State Police.
Ford is currently serving his sentence, and his supervised release will last for 5 years. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Andrew McCormack.
