Jason Donald Brenton, a 51-year-old Evansville man, has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for producing and attempting to produce child pornography. The disturbing case began on November 3, 2023, when a 19-year-old female victim discovered a hidden camera in her bathroom, which had been secretly recording her for years, including when she was a minor. The victim confronted Brenton, who admitted to the heinous crime.
Detectives from the Evansville Police Department and the FBI investigated the case, recovering over 100 videos and 60 images of the victim in the nude, as well as explicit images and videos of her underage boyfriend. The evidence was found on Brenton’s cell phone, laptop, and the Micro SD card from the hidden camera.
The sentence was imposed by U.S. District Judge Matthew P. Brookman, who likely considered the severity of Brenton’s crimes and the long-term impact on his victims.
