⏱ 2 min read

Isaac J. Horne and Christopher M. Youngblood, two Evansville men, were at the helm of a methamphetamine trafficking ring that plagued Vanderburgh County. Between May and December 2024, they distributed approximately 16 pounds of methamphetamine in the Evansville area. Horne, the primary source of supply, took elaborate steps to evade law enforcement, including using third-party residences to store narcotics and receiving payments through accounts held in others’ names. Youngblood, a key distributor, sold the drugs to lower-level dealers and users.

Horne’s efforts to avoid detection were ultimately unsuccessful, and he was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and two counts of methamphetamine distribution. Youngblood received a seven-year sentence after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. Both men will serve five years of supervised release following their prison terms.

The investigation, led by the Crossroads Homeland Security Task Force, revealed that Horne and Youngblood’s operation was a significant contributor to the methamphetamine problem in Evansville. Horne’s extensive criminal history, including prior convictions for dealing cocaine and violent offenses, made him a high-priority target for law enforcement.

The sentences handed down to Horne and Youngblood reflect the severity of their crimes and the impact of their actions on the community. The distribution of 16 pounds of methamphetamine over just seven months is a staggering amount, and it is clear that their operation was a major player in the local drug trade.
