Frederick Karl Hildenbrand, a 56-year-old from Cocoa, Florida, has been found guilty of producing and possessing child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Hildenbrand, who referred to himself as an “elite ranked pedophile”, was residing in Ohio from at least 2004 through 2014 before relocating to northeast Florida. The crimes took place over several years, with Hildenbrand producing CSAM in Ohio and later storing it in a safe in a rented storage unit in Florida.
The storage unit was auctioned off in May 2024 after Hildenbrand’s payments were no longer processed. The purchaser of the contents discovered the safe and its disturbing contents, including multiple pairs of soiled children’s undergarments and electronic devices containing child exploitation material. The materials were turned over to the Baker County Sheriff’s Office, leading to Hildenbrand’s downfall.
Hildenbrand’s attempts to retrieve the items from the storage company led to his communication with an undercover detective from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office. Unaware that he was speaking with law enforcement, Hildenbrand expressed his desire to have the items returned, particularly those from his safe.
Hildenbrand faces a minimum of 15 years and up to 30 years in federal prison for each production count, and up to 20 years’ imprisonment for each possession count. The sentencing hearing is scheduled for September 22, 2026.
