Nestor Jaime, Medicare Fraud, New Jersey 2021

⏱ 2 min read

Nestor Jaime, a Pine Brook, New Jersey, pharmacist, made a fortune by fleecing Medicare for $2.5 million. Over two years, from 2019 to 2021, Jaime submitted hundreds of fake claims for Dificid, a medication worth over $4,000 per prescription. But he didn’t bother buying or dispensing it.

Jaime, through his Paterson pharmacy, churned out phony claims, using Medicare beneficiaries’ names without their knowledge. He even forged their healthcare providers’ IDs to make it look legit. The scam paid off, with Jaime splurging on luxury vehicles and personal expenses.

On April 15, 2026, U.S. District Judge Katharine S. Hayden sentenced Jaime to 24 months in prison, two years of supervised release, and ordered him to cough up $2,505,754 in restitution.

Jaime’s scheme unraveled, and he pleaded guilty on November 19, 2025. The investigation involved the Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General and the FBI.
