A 51-year-old Oregon man is going down for trafficking in some of the most heinous material imaginable. Jayson Setera was convicted of possessing and transporting child pornography after a multi-day trial in Newark federal court.
It happened back on January 22, 2024, when Setera returned to Newark Liberty International Airport after an international trip. That’s when law enforcement searched his phone and found a staggering 170 photographs and 8 videos of child sex abuse material.
But that’s not all – investigators also uncovered messages from Setera soliciting more child porn and boasting about the abuse of young kids. And get this: he even paid the sickos who sent him the material.
Now Setera’s facing a minimum of five years in the slammer for transporting child porn, with a maximum of 20 years. He’s also on the hook for up to $250,000 in fines.
Setera’s scheduled to be sentenced on August 17.
