Khaimov, 52, was handed an 87-month sentence – 60 months for conspiring to commit healthcare fraud and 27 months for violating the federal anti-kickback statute. Shtindler, 48, was sentenced to 72 months in prison for her involvement in the fraudulent activities.

The duo, both from Glen Head, New York, were found guilty of conspiring to defraud pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) and health care providers like Medicare and Medicaid. They also paid kickbacks and bribes to healthcare professionals to secure prescription referrals.

Prime Aid Pharmacies, once located in Union City and the Bronx, specialized in costly medications for conditions such as Hepatitis C and rheumatoid arthritis. According to court documents, the pharmacies billed health providers for medication that was never dispensed, pocketing $65 million over five years.

Khaimov’s associates, Ruben Sevumyants and Alex Fleyshmakher, have already pleaded guilty in related charges and await sentencing. Their activities, which included cash bribes and meals, were aimed at steering prescriptions to Prime Aid pharmacies.
