PHILADELPHIA, PA — Raheem Pleasant, a menacing figure from the City of Brotherly Love, has been hit with three counts of bank robbery, according to Acting United States Attorney Louis D. Lappen. The allegations suggest that Pleasant’s brute force and intimidation tactics netted him an estimated $50,000 in less than a month.
Between December 17, 2016, and January 2, 2017, the 25-year-old suspect allegedly struck at three different TD Bank branches, each time leaving a trail of fear and financial loss. If convicted, Pleasant could spend a staggering 60 years behind bars.
The Indictment paints a picture of a determined criminal who, on multiple occasions, forced his way into bank premises, striking terror into the hearts of employees and customers alike.
“The FBI’s Violent Crimes Task Force and local law enforcement agencies have been relentless in their pursuit of justice,” said Lappen. “Pleasant’s actions are a clear threat to our financial institutions and communities.”
The investigation, which was an intensive collaboration between federal and local forces, has culminated in the prosecution led by Assistant United States Attorney Sean P. McDonnell.
As with all criminal proceedings, Raheem Pleasant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
