PHILADELPHIA – A Montgomery County man has been sentenced for multiple election fraud offenses, including falsely registering to vote, double voting, and election fraud.
Philip C. Pulley, 62, of Huntington Valley, Pennsylvania, was sentenced on May to 3 years of probation by Chief United States District Court Judge Mitchell S. Goldberg, according to a statement from U.S. Attorney Jacqueline C. Romero.
Pulley was also ordered to complete 100 hours of community service, with 50 of those hours dedicated to an entity that works toward the promotion of free and fair elections, and pay a fine of $9,500 and a $400 special assessment. He was also ordered to write a letter explaining why he committed the offenses.
Pulley pleaded guilty to the charges in September after being charged by information in August of last year. The charges stem from incidents in 2018 and 2020 when Pulley, who was already registered to vote in Montgomery County and Broward County, Florida, registered to vote in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, using a false home address and social security number.
In the 2022 general election, which included the election for United States Senator, Pulley voted in both Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.
“Free and fair elections are critical to the health of our democracy, and people who seek to corrupt the process can dangerously erode the public’s trust,” said U.S. Attorney Romero. “Protecting the integrity of the vote is a priority for my office and the FBI. We will continue to investigate and prosecute election fraud cases and bring offenders like Philip Pulley to justice.”
The case was investigated by the FBI and the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Nancy E. Potts and Mark B. Dubnoff, with support from James Price, Senior Deputy Attorney General and Special Assistant United States Attorney.
