Emily Custodio, Voter Fraud, Pennsylvania 2020

PHILADELPHIA – Emily Custodio, 51, of Clementon, New Jersey, a citizen of the Philippines, is facing serious charges for voter fraud in Pennsylvania. The United States Attorney David Metcalf announced that Custodio has been indicted on one count of voter fraud and one count of voting by an alien.

Custodio, who does not hold American citizenship, allegedly applied online to register to vote in Pennsylvania on July 18, 2020, falsely stating she was a U.S. citizen. Her application was accepted, and she was successfully registered to vote in the state.

On November 3, 2020, Custodio reportedly cast her vote at a Philadelphia County polling place, presenting photo identification and signing a pollbook affirming her eligibility. The fraudulent act included voting for President and Vice President of the United States.

“The integrity of our electoral system depends on every citizen having confidence that the process is fair and transparent,” said U.S. Attorney Metcalf. “Illegal voting by non-citizens dilutes the voice of lawful American voters.” If convicted, Custodio faces up to six years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a $350,000 fine.

The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations and the FBI, with Assistant United States Attorneys Nancy Potts and Mark Dubnoff handling the prosecution. The charges against Custodio are mere accusations, and she is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

U.S. Attorney Metcalf emphasized the gravity of election fraud: “Election fraud of any sort undermines public trust in our system.” The case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of maintaining the integrity of the electoral process.
