Ellie Edward Dulaire, Firearm Possession, Florida 2026

ORLANDO, FL – Orlando resident Ellie Edward Dulaire (27) has been handed a severe sentence: six years in federal prison for the heinous crime of possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. The court’s decision comes as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by individuals who continue to flout the law despite previous convictions.

Dulaire, currently serving time in the Florida Department of Corrections, will begin his federal sentence on October 9, 2026, when his state sentence concludes. In addition to his prison term, Dulaire has been ordered to forfeit a Smith & Wesson M&P Shield firearm and its ammunition, both of which were stolen out of Pasco County in 2021 and used in the offense.

The court’s ruling was based on evidence that Dulaire was spotted at the Florida Gun Show by an Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputy. The officer recognized Dulaire from a previous case and noted that he was wanted on an arrest warrant from Lake County. Upon contact, officers discovered the stolen firearm in Dulaire’s vehicle.

Dulaire has a long and storied criminal history as a nine-time convicted felon, making him legally prohibited from owning or possessing firearms. This conviction only adds to his rap sheet of transgressions, further cementing his status as a threat to public safety.

This case was a collaborative effort between the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant United States Attorneys Michael P. Felicetta and Courtney Richardson-Jones prosecuted the case with vigor, ensuring justice was served.

Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program dedicated to reducing violent crime and gun violence in our neighborhoods, played a pivotal role in bringing Dulaire to justice. The Department of Justice’s PSN initiative focuses on fostering trust in communities, supporting organizations that prevent violence, setting strategic enforcement priorities, and measuring results – all in the name of creating safer environments for everyone.
