OMAHA, NE – A grim sentence was meted out to Miguel Angel Rodriguez Ramirez, 40, of Omaha, following his conviction for the heinous act of transporting child pornography.
The United States Attorney Lesley A. Woods announced that Rodriguez Ramirez was sentenced on September 3, 2025, by Judge Brian C. Buescher to 150 months’ imprisonment – a sentence with no possibility of parole under federal law. Upon his release, Rodriguez Ramirez will be subjected to a five-year term of supervised release.
The saga began on May 1, 2024, when Google LLC reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) about a user who uploaded 13 videos depicting child pornography. A CyberTip led investigators to Rodriguez Ramirez’s Omaha residence, where they discovered his involvement with the illegal material.
Upon obtaining a search warrant for Rodriguez Ramirez’s Google account, agents confirmed that he had uploaded the videos in March 2024. An August 8, 2024, residential search at his Omaha home yielded his iPhone and other electronic devices, which contained evidence of his sinister activities. Rodriguez Ramirez confessed to receiving the child pornography via Telegram and uploading it to his Google Drive.
Forensic analysis of Rodriguez Ramirez’s devices revealed a chilling collection of 270 image files and 13 video files depicting prepubescent children, including an infant, engaged in masochistic conduct. This case is a stark reminder of the insidious nature of child exploitation and abuse on the Internet.
The investigation into Rodriguez Ramirez was part of Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative aimed at combating online child sexual exploitation and abuse. The Omaha FBI’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force led the investigation in this case.
