Natashia and Detrick Tucker, Conspiracy to Defraud the United State…

GRIMY TIMES EXCLUSIVE: In a stunning revelation from the federal courts in Macon, Ga., husband and wife tax preparers Natashia and Detrick Tucker have been hit with an 18-count indictment for alleged conspiracy to defraud the United States. The Tuckers, who operated the Pine Mountain-based tax preparation business T&T Express, are accused of preparing and filing fraudulent tax returns that claimed inflated refunds for their clients.

The charges against the couple include aiding the filing of false tax returns, a crime they are said to have committed even with respect to Natashia Tucker’s personal taxes. Both defendants faced court today after their arrest, following the grand jury’s findings.

According to the indictment, if convicted, each defendant could face up to ten years in prison for conspiracy charges, and three additional years per conviction for aiding the filing of false tax returns. This case marks a significant blow to Georgia’s tax preparers, raising concerns about the integrity of the industry.

The prosecution is being led by Trial Attorneys Alexander Effendi and Charles Edgar Jr. from the Justice Department’s Tax Division, along with Michael Solis from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Georgia. The investigation was conducted with support from special agents of IRS-Criminal Investigation and the Georgia Department of Revenue.
