Chad Michael Marlow, Methamphetamine Trafficking, Florida 2023

Miami, FL – Chad Michael Marlow, a 46-year-old Pompano Beach resident, has been sentenced to 300 months in prison for his role in a large-scale methamphetamine trafficking operation.

Marlow, who was convicted in January by a Fort Lauderdale federal jury, was found guilty of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance, distribution of a controlled substance, possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance, and being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.

According to court documents, Marlow was recorded on two separate occasions selling a quarter pound and a pound of methamphetamine to an undercover DEA agent in the parking lot of a Broward County shopping plaza. In the recordings, Marlow can be heard discussing the quality of the product and its use for his back and hip pain.

Marlow and his partner agreed to sell the undercover agent one pound of methamphetamine at a third planned deal, but when Marlow and his partner arrived at the shopping plaza, law enforcement conducted an arrest. During the search of the vehicle Marlow was driving, officers found a loaded handgun, an extra loaded magazine, and a pound of fentanyl, as well as methamphetamine and cocaine, all segregated into dealing-sized baggies.

Marlow’s luck ran out when officers discovered a pound of methamphetamine in a lunch cooler sitting on the front passenger seat of the vehicle. The search also turned up a bank card bearing Marlow’s name.

The sentence was imposed by U.S. District Judge William P. Dimitrouleas, with U.S. Attorney Markenzy Lapointe and Special Agent in Charge Deanne L. Reuter of DEA Miami Field Division announcing the news.

The case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence through community-based initiatives and strategic enforcement priorities.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Emily R. Stone and Brooke E. Latta prosecuted the case, with DEA Miami Field Division conducting the investigation.

Marlow’s case serves as a prime example of the dangers of methamphetamine trafficking and the importance of law enforcement efforts in keeping communities safe.
