Porcupine Man Accused of Aggravated Sexual Abuse
A shocking indictment has been handed down in the case against Jaron Thunder Hawk, a 20-year-old man from Porcupine, South Dakota. Thunder Hawk has been charged with three counts of Aggravated Sexual Abuse.
The indictment, which was unsealed on January 22, 2014, alleges that Thunder Hawk engaged in sexual acts with three children under the age of twelve in 2012 and 2013.
According to the indictment, the maximum penalty upon conviction is life imprisonment and/or a $250,000 fine, and a lifetime of supervised release.
Thunder Hawk pleaded not guilty to the indictment on January 27, 2014, before U.S. Magistrate Judge Veronica L. Duffy.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Kathryn N. Rich, and the investigation is being conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Thunder Hawk was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service pending trial, which is scheduled to begin on April 1, 2014.
It is worth noting that the charges against Thunder Hawk are merely accusations, and he is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
