Christopher Dale Harrison, Child Pornography Production, Texas 2013

BEAUMONT, Texas – A grim charge has been levied against Christopher Dale Harrison, a 32-year-old resident of Port Neches, Texas. The Department of Justice (DOJ) reported the arrest of Harrison on April 19, 2013, in the Eastern District of Texas for alleged violations involving child exploitation.

Harrison stands accused of possession, distribution, receipt, and production of child pornography, charges that carry significant penalties if proven true. The defendant appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Keith F. Giblin today, marking another step in a federal investigation that has been spearheaded by the DOJ’s Project Safe Childhood initiative.

Project Safe Childhood, launched in 2006, is a nationwide effort aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse on the Internet. The campaign, coordinated by U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS), unites federal, state, and local resources to identify, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who target children online, while also working to rescue victims.

In this instance, Harrison faces up to 30 years in prison for the production charges and an additional 10 years for the other charges related to child pornography. The investigation into Harrison’s alleged actions has been a collaborative effort involving various law enforcement agencies, including Homeland Security Investigations (HSI-ICE), the Port Neches Police Department, the Beaumont Police Department, and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Michelle Englade is handling the prosecution of this case. It’s crucial to remember that an arrest or indictment does not equate to guilt; Harrison is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
