Predator Rescued 8 Children from Abuse
A school technology administrator has been arrested on charges of child pornography production and sexual abuse after a thorough investigation by Special Agent Tim Erickson of the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
The investigation, led by Erickson, resulted in the rescue of eight children from physical and sexual abuse and the arrest of six individuals in five states and Canada.
Deputy Attorney General James M. Cole recognized Erickson’s extraordinary efforts at the National Missing Children’s Day ceremony at the Justice Department’s Great Hall.
‘Protecting children is one of the important jobs we have,’ said Cole. ‘There is no rest for a parent who has lost a child, and there should be no rest for any of us who are in a position to help.’
The ceremony honored missing children, their families, child advocates, and those dedicated to the well-being and safety of children. It also highlighted the importance of programs such as Project Safe Childhood, the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Program, and the AMBER Alert Program, which has led to the successful recovery of 584 abducted children since its creation in 1996.
Deputy Attorney General Cole presented awards to individuals who have made significant contributions to the well-being and safety of children, including Special Agent Tim Erickson, who was recognized for his efforts in rescuing eight children from abuse.
The ceremony also marked the release of two publications translated into Spanish, aimed at supporting families of missing and exploited children.
The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and the AMBER Alert Program continue to work tirelessly to protect children and bring them home safely.
