A Webster man has pleaded guilty to downloading and storing over 600 images of child pornography, including images portraying sadistic conduct and violence.
Preston Field, 23, of Webster, New York, entered his plea before Chief U.S. District Judge Frank P. Geraci on charges of possession of child pornography, a crime that carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
According to Assistant U.S. Attorney John J. Field, who is handling the case, Field downloaded and stored the images from November 2012 to March 2014, and also made his collection available for others to view and download.
The plea is the result of an investigation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations, under the direction of Acting Special Agent in Charge J. Michael Kennedy.
Field’s sentencing is scheduled for August 5, 2015, at 9:30, before Judge Geraci.
The case highlights the severity of child pornography and the importance of protecting our children from these heinous crimes.
