SHERMAN, Texas – A Princeton man has been locked up for 19 years in federal prison after being convicted of drug trafficking and firearms violations, according to Acting U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs.
Larry Wayne Culverhouse, 39, pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime; felon in possession of a firearm; and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. On July 30, 2025, U.S. District Judge Amos L. Mazzant sentenced him to 228 months.
Culverhouse was caught on August 30, 2023, with 504.3 grams of methamphetamine and a firearm, authorities revealed. He had already been a convicted felon, banned from owning firearms, yet he still possessed one.
This case is part of Operation Take Back America, the Department of Justice’s aggressive effort to combat illegal immigration, eliminate cartels, and protect communities from violent crime. The initiative leverages resources from OCDETFs and PSN.
Investigation into Culverhouse was led by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, with prosecution handled by Acting U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs.
This gritty verdict sends a stark message to drug traffickers and gun law violators: in Texas, justice will be swift and severe.
