W Stephen Muldrow, Narcotics and Kidnapping Charges, Puerto Rico

GRIMY TIMES EXCLUSIVE: San Juan, Puerto Rico – The grim streets of San Juan were hit with a major law enforcement crackdown this week as eight alleged kingpins were slapped with federal charges for drug conspiracy and kidnapping.

The United States Attorney for the District of Puerto Rico, W. Stephen Muldrow, and FBI Special Agent in Charge Devin J. Kowalski announced the charges against Bryan Martínez-Albizu and seven others, including multiple individuals whose identities are being kept confidential.

According to the indictment, the defendants conspired between May 20 and 24, 2025, to possess with intent to distribute over 500 grams of cocaine. Their brazenness didn’t stop there; five of the suspects also face charges for kidnapping Santiago Nieves-Hernández and Yoel Gómez-Gómez, holding them for ransom.

The defendants utilized a Toyota RAV4, a Nissan SUV, and cellular telephones to execute their heinous acts. U.S. Attorney Muldrow vowed, “These drug traffickers involved in the kidnapping and brutal torture of victims have no place in civilized society. They will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

Special Agent Kowalski echoed the sentiment, stating, “The FBI won’t be fooled, and we’ll use every resource to dismantle you and your crew. Operation Summer Heat should’ve made that clear. If it didn’t—here’s your reminder: If you terrorize our communities or think you can outsmart justice, you’re wrong.”

Convictions on the drug conspiracy charges could land the defendants between five and forty years in prison, while those charged with kidnapping face life sentences. Assistant U.S. Attorney Julian Radzinschi is leading the prosecution, with FBI and Puerto Rico Police Bureau jointly handling the investigation.

The suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. If you have information regarding this case, contact the FBI immediately. Stay tuned for updates as this gripping tale of crime and justice unfolds.
