Randall Aaron Koontz, Jr., Distribution of Methamphetamine, West Virginia 2019

A 41-year-old man from Petersburg, West Virginia, has admitted to distributing methamphetamine in Grant County.

Randall Aaron Koontz, Jr., pleaded guilty to one count of ‘Distribution of Methamphetamine’ in the United States District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia.

According to the indictment, Koontz admitted to selling methamphetamine in August 2019 in Grant County.

Koontz faces up to 20 years of incarceration and a fine of up to $1,000,000.

Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen D. Warner is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government.

The Potomac Highlands Drug Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative; the West Virginia State Police; and the Grant County Sheriff’s Office investigated the crime.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael Aloi presided over the case.
