A Rapid City man has been sentenced to 27 months in prison for his role in a marijuana distribution conspiracy.
Kyle Thomas Soltesz, 33, was sentenced by Chief U.S. District Judge Jeffrey L. Viken on March 1, 2013, after pleading guilty to the charge on October 24, 2012.
The investigation, led by the Drug Enforcement Administration, revealed that Soltesz conspired to distribute marijuana in the Rapid City area beginning in the spring of 2011.
Soltesz was also ordered to pay a $100 special assessment to the Victim Assistance Fund and serve five years of supervised release following his prison sentence.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Ted L. McBride.
The conviction is the latest in a string of high-profile drug trafficking cases in the region.
Soltesz’s sentence is a harsh reminder of the consequences of getting caught up in the lucrative and often violent world of marijuana distribution.
