RAPIID CITY – A Rapid City, South Dakota man has been handed down a severe federal sentence for his repeated failures to comply with sex offender registration requirements. Brady Makes Room For Them, 40, was sentenced to two years in federal prison on August 18, 2025, by U.S. District Judge Camela C. Theeler.
Makes Room For Them had previously been convicted of Abusive Sexual Contact in 2005, which mandates sex offender registration. Despite multiple convictions for failure to register as a sex offender in 2012, 2018, and 2023, Makes Room For Them continued his non-compliance. His latest transgression came when he relocated from his registered address on March 6, 2025, without updating his sex offender registration.
The DOJ’s Project Safe Childhood initiative, aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse, played a significant role in the case against Makes Room For Them. The project, launched by the Department of Justice in 2006, has been instrumental in apprehending and prosecuting those who exploit children. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kirk Albertson led the prosecution effort.
Makes Room For Them was initially indicted by a federal grand jury in April 2025 and pleaded guilty on June 2, 2025. Along with his prison term, he is also required to serve five years of supervised release and pay a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.
Investigation for this case was conducted by the U.S. Marshals Service and the Rapid City Police Department. The defendant was remanded into custody immediately following sentencing.
