Tina Marie Ladeaux, Concealing Person from Arrest, South Dakota 2013

Rapid City Resident Tina Marie Ladeaux, 41, has been found guilty of concealing a fugitive, sparking a federal investigation into her activities.

Ladeaux, who also goes by the names Tina M. Cooper and Tina Cooperboyd, appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Veronica L. Duffy on October 31, 2013, and pleaded guilty to Concealing Person from Arrest.

The maximum penalty upon conviction is 5 years of imprisonment and a $250,000 fine. Ladeaux’s actions stem from her decision to conceal her husband, Eric Ladeaux, from law enforcement after being informed there was a warrant for his arrest for Escape on federal charges in September 2012.

According to sources, the U.S. Marshals Service led the investigation into Ladeaux’s activities. Assistant U.S. Attorney Sarah B. Collins will be prosecuting the case.

The investigation found that Ladeaux knew about the warrant for her husband’s arrest and chose to conceal him, further exacerbating the situation. As a result, Ladeaux now faces the possibility of 5 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Ladeaux was released on bond pending sentencing, which is set for February 3, 2014. A presentence investigation has been ordered to determine the full extent of Ladeaux’s involvement in the case.
