READING, PA — Oscar Alexander Moreno, a.k/a “Oscar Alexander Moreno Rodrgiuez,” has been hit with a severe charge of illegal reentry after deportation, leaving law enforcement officials scratching their heads. According to the United States Attorney’s Office, Moreno, a citizen of El Salvador, was found in the United States on or about February 7, 2017, despite having been deported from the country on January 3, 2012.
This shocking revelation comes as Acting United States Attorney Louis D. Lappen announced the charges against Moreno today. If convicted, the defendant could be facing a maximum sentence of ten years behind bars.
The investigation was conducted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (“ERO”), with Assistant United States Attorney Joel D. Goldstein taking the lead in prosecution.
As always, an Indictment, Information, or Criminal Complaint is merely an accusation. Moreno, like any other defendant, is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
