Rebecca Dunlap, Methamphetamine and Fentanyl Conspiracy, West Virginia 2021

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – In a shocking turn of events, Rebecca Dunlap, a 46-year-old resident of Charleston, has pleaded guilty to traveling in interstate commerce to promote, carry on, and facilitate a methamphetamine and fentanyl drug conspiracy.

According to court documents, Dunlap was stopped by law enforcement officers on her way back to Charleston with large quantities of both methamphetamine and fentanyl. It is alleged that she made the trip to Columbus, Ohio, on March 17, 2021, to pick up illegal drugs for Che Lark.

The charges against Dunlap include traveling in interstate commerce to promote, carry on, and facilitate a methamphetamine and fentanyl drug conspiracy. If convicted, she faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Acting United States Attorney Lisa G. Johnston made the announcement and commended the investigative work of the Metropolitan Drug Enforcement Network Team (MDENT) for their efforts in bringing Dunlap to justice.

United States District Judge Joseph R. Goodwin presided over the hearing. Assistant United States Attorney Steve Loew is handling the prosecution.

An indictment is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

Dunlap is scheduled to be sentenced on December 2, 2021. The case is a stark reminder of the ongoing struggle against drug trafficking in our communities and the need for continued vigilance and cooperation between law enforcement agencies.
