New York Sex Trafficking Ring Leaders Plead Guilty
Eight members of the Rendon-Reyes Trafficking Organization, a Mexican sex trafficking enterprise, have pleaded guilty to racketeering and sex trafficking charges in federal court in Brooklyn, New York.

The Rendon-Reyes Trafficking Organization, which operated as a family-based enterprise, profited by prostituting young women and girls from Mexico and Latin America. - Jovan Rendon-Reyes, aka Jovani, 33, of Mexico, pleaded guilty to racketeering involving predicate acts of sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion and sex trafficking of minors.

This case was a result of a bilateral enforcement action between the United States and Mexico. The defendants were arrested in November 2015, and the indictment was unsealed in July 2015. The case was prosecuted by the Eastern District of New York U.S. Attorney’s Office, with assistance from Homeland Security Investigations and the Mexican authorities.
This case highlights the importance of international cooperation in combating human trafficking and sex trafficking. The victims of this crime were trafficked from Mexico and Latin America and were forced to engage in prostitution in the United States.
