Gilberto Trevizo-Molina, 46, Sentenced to Time Served for Illegal Re-Entry into United States

UTICA, NEW YORK – Gilberto Trevizo-Molina, a 46-year-old citizen of Mexico, has been sentenced to time served (50 days in jail) for illegally re-entering the United States.

According to court documents, Trevizo-Molina unlawfully returned to the United States after he was removed to Mexico on May 29, 2007.

Trevizo-Molina was arrested by Border Patrol agents on February 8, 2017, after they encountered him as a passenger in a vehicle that stopped at a Border Patrol checkpoint on New York State Route 30.

At the time of his arrest, Trevizo-Molina was residing in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Following his sentencing by United States District Judge David N. Hurd, Trevizo-Molina was remanded to the custody of the Department of Homeland Security, which will place Trevizo-Molina into removal proceedings.

This case was investigated by the United States Border Patrol and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Edward P. Grogan.

United States Attorney Richard S. Hartunian and Chief Patrol Agent John C. Pfeifer, United States Border Patrol, Swanton Sector, announced the sentencing.
