Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – Ricardo Medrano Damas, a/k/a ‘Ricardo Medrano Damaso,’ a/k/a ‘Armando Villalongo-Reyes,’ has been charged with a serious crime in the United States.
A native of the Dominican Republic, Damas was found in the United States on August 28, 2017, after having been deported four times prior: May 30, 2003, December 1, 2010, April 4, 2012, and June 21, 2016.
The indictment alleges that Damas, an alien and native and citizen of the Dominican Republic, was found in the United States in violation of federal law. If convicted, Damas faces a maximum possible sentence of twenty years.
The case was investigated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Enforcement and Removal Operations (‘ERO’), and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Paul Gray.
A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. The charges against Damas were announced by Acting United States Attorney Louis D. Lappen.
Damas is a citizen of the Dominican Republic and was previously deported from the United States multiple times. His current status and next steps in the case are unclear.
