SAN ANTONIO – A Universal City man, Joshua Conan Faleide, 43, was sentenced to five years in federal prison for being a felon in possession of firearms.
According to court documents, the Bexar County Fire Marshal’s Office (BCFMO) issued an alert for Faleide, who had two explosives-related warrants. He was arrested at his hotel room in Universal City with three loaded firearms, including a loaded SKS rifle.
Faleide had previously been convicted of felony Assault on a Public Servant in Bexar County. On July 29, 2021, he pleaded guilty to one count of being a felon in possession.
“Faleide’s conviction and sentencing highlight our continuing efforts to prosecute violent actors who illegally carry firearms,” said U.S. Attorney Ashley C. Hoff.
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Special Agent in Charge Fred Milanowski added, “This sentence shows that removing convicted felons who possess firearms is the top priority for ATF.”
The ATF and the BCFMO investigated this case, with the Universal City Police Department assisting with the arrest. Assistant U.S. Attorney William Calve prosecuted the case on behalf of the government.
This case is part of the Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) Program, an evidence-based initiative aimed at reducing violent crime through comprehensive solutions and partnerships with local programs.
