Joseph Alexander Dashee, Distribution of Child Pornography, Arizona 2015

PHOENIX – A Tempe man has been sentenced to 17 years in prison for distributing child pornography and abusing minor victims, announced the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona.

Joseph Alexander Dashee, 26, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge David G. Campbell to 17 years’ imprisonment, followed by lifetime supervised release, for distribution of child pornography and abusive sexual contact. Dashee had previously pleaded guilty to the charges.

According to court documents, in 2015, FBI agents discovered Dashee downloading and distributing child pornography through a file-sharing program. A search of his residence resulted in the seizure of 90 images and seven videos containing child pornography.

During questioning, Dashee admitted to sexually abusing two minor victims under the age of 12. The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Salt River Police Department. The prosecution was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Gayle L. Helart and Brandon M. Brown.

The case, CR-17-1001-PHX-DGC, is a stark reminder of the dangers of child pornography and the importance of holding perpetrators accountable for their crimes. Dashee will also be required to register as a sex offender as part of his sentence.
