A Forestville man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for his role in producing and distributing child pornography.
Richard C. Miller, 53, was convicted of receipt and possession of child pornography, a crime that shocked the community and left many wondering how such atrocities could occur.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Miller produced child pornography by filming himself engaged in a sexual act with a minor between 2006 and 2009.
In addition, Miller exchanged images of child pornography with co-defendant Joseph Harvey, who was previously convicted and sentenced to serve 96 months in prison.
A search of the residence shared by the defendants revealed multiple electronic devices that contained child pornography.
The sentencing is the result of an investigation by Homeland Security Investigations, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Kevin Kelly.
Miller was sentenced to serve 20 years in prison and lifetime supervised release by U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo.
The case is a stark reminder of the devastating impact of child pornography on victims and their families.
