Woman Guilty Of Destroying Park Fee Machines
MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – Jennifer L. Lind Palmer, a 34-year-old woman from Wayne, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to destroying government property.
According to court documents, Palmer willfully injured and attempted to injure property of the United States and the National Park Service, resulting in the destruction and attempted destruction of Park Fee machines between July 15 and July 20, 2012.
The total value of the damaged property exceeded $1,000.
The charges against Palmer were brought by the National Park Service and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, and she was indicted in April 2015.
Palmer faces a statutory range of punishment of up to 10 years in prison and/or a $250,000 fine.
Assistant United States Attorney Edward Snow represented the United States in the case.
A sentencing hearing has been scheduled once a presentence report is completed.
The case is a reminder of the importance of protecting government property and the consequences of committing such crimes.
