Convicted Tax Return Preparer Banned from Business

Ricia Daniels, a Texas woman, has been permanently barred from preparing federal tax returns after a federal court in Dallas ruled in her favor on January 9, 2020. Ricia Daniels doing business as Ricia’s Convenience Tax Service and Ricia’s Convenience Tax Service Inc. are also subject to the ban.

The complaint further stated that Daniels had filed tax returns without the permission of some customers. Return preparer fraud is one of the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) Dirty Dozen Tax Scams for 2014.
