Robert Daigle, Receipt of Child Pornography, Massachusetts 2022

A Waltham man has been arrested and charged with receiving child pornography, according to a recent federal court filing. Robert Daigle, 45, was taken into custody on January 11, 2022 in federal court.

The charges against Daigle stem from an initial search of his residence, which revealed electronic devices containing images and videos of child pornography. An on-site forensic examination confirmed the presence of these illicit materials.

A single count of receipt of child pornography has been levied against Daigle, a charge that carries a sentence of at least five years and up to 20 years in prison, with an additional five years to a lifetime of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine.

The case against Daigle is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Suzanne Sullivan Jacobus from the U.S. Attorney’s Major Crimes Unit. U.S. Attorney Rachael S. Rollins, FBI Special Agent Joseph R. Bonavolonta, and Waltham Police Chief Kevin O’Connell made the announcement.

Daigle was detained following an initial appearance before U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge Marianne B. Bowler on January 11, 2022. A detention hearing has been scheduled for January 14, 2022.

The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative created by the Department of Justice in 2006 to combat child exploitation and abuse. Led by the U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and the DOJ’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, the program marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children, as well as identify and rescue victims.
