Cocaine Dealer and Repeat Immigration Offender Sentenced to Federal Prison
WILMINGTON, Del. – Robert Hernandez, a 35-year-old man from Newark, Delaware, was sentenced today to 30 months in prison for possession with intent to distribute cocaine and illegal reentry into the United States after removal.
U.S. District Judge Jennifer L. Hall imposed the sentence on Hernandez, who was found guilty of the charges after a trial.
According to court documents, Hernandez was arrested in February 2024, after a prolonged investigation by law enforcement agencies.
Hernandez’s criminal history includes multiple convictions for immigration-related offenses, including a previous removal from the United States.
As a result of his conviction, Hernandez will serve a 30-month sentence for possession with intent to distribute cocaine and 30 months for illegal reentry into the United States, to be served concurrently.
The U.S. Department of Justice praised the efforts of the law enforcement agencies involved in the investigation and prosecution of Hernandez.
The case was investigated by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
