PHOENIX – In a shocking display of depravity, Roberto Carlos Lopez, 30, of Mesa, Ariz. was sentenced to 84 months in prison, followed by a term of lifetime supervised release for possession of child pornography.

The heinous crimes of Lopez were brought to light in an investigation conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which uncovered a stash of 4 images and 296 videos of child pornography in his possession.

Lopez’s crimes fall under the umbrella of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the federal government to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
