Tyheim Terry, Racketeering Conspiracy, New Jersey 2024

Newark, N.J. – The Rollin’ 60s Neighborhood Crips gang member, Tyheim Terry, also known as ‘Ty’ and ‘Rollin’ Ty,’ has been sentenced to 178 months in prison for his role in a racketeering conspiracy, according to U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger.

Terry, aged 25, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Susan D. Wigenton to charges including Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) conspiracy, carjacking, and brandishing a firearm during the commission of a carjacking. The sentence was handed down in Newark federal court today.

Documents and statements in court revealed that from 2015 to September 22, 2022, Terry was a member of the Rollin’ 60s Neighborhood Crips, an entity known for violence and drug distribution across New Jersey and beyond. On February 21, 2021, he participated in an attempted carjacking along with other gang members. Another violent act occurred on April 5, 2021, when Terry, again alongside gang members, shot a victim. A third carjacking, where Terry brandished a firearm, took place on April 11, 2021.

In addition to his prison term, Terry has been sentenced to three years of supervised release by Judge Wigenton.

U.S. Attorney Sellinger commended the DEA, IRS-CI, ATF, U.S. Marshals Service, and numerous local law enforcement agencies for their collaborative efforts in investigating the Rollin 60’s Neighborhood Crips case. This operation is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) investigation, which aims to dismantle high-level criminal organizations.

The government is represented by Assistant U.S. Attorney Francesca Liquori and Assistant U.S. Attorney Jake Nasar. Additional information about the OCDETF Program can be found at https://www.justice.gov/OCDETF.
