Baltimore Man Charged with Carjacking and Firearms Violations

Baltimore man Ron Wardlow, 26, is facing serious federal charges related to a carjacking incident that occurred on February 27, 2025. According to the indictment, Wardlow committed a carjacking and used a Glock 9mm handgun during the crime.

Wardlow has been charged with three federal crimes: carjacking, using, carrying, and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, and possession of a firearm and ammunition by a prohibited person. If convicted, Wardlow faces a maximum life sentence in federal prison.

The indictment was announced by Kelly O. Hayes, U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland, who commended the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) and the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) for their work in the investigation.

Special Agent in Charge Charles Doerrer, ATF, and Commissioner Richard Worley, BPD, also attended the press conference to discuss the case. The ATF’s National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN) played a crucial role in generating investigative leads that led to Wardlow’s indictment.

NIBIN is a national network that allows for the capture and comparison of ballistic evidence to aid in solving and preventing violent crimes involving firearms. The network has been instrumental in linking firearms from multiple crime scenes and disrupting shooting cycles.

The case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program that aims to reduce violent crime and gun violence by bringing together all levels of law enforcement and the communities they serve. U.S. Attorney Hayes thanked Assistant U.S. Attorney Alexander Levin for prosecuting the federal case.
