Rosebud Man Charged with Sexual Abuse of a Minor
Grimy Times has learned that 21-year-old Gerald Duane Iron Shooter, a resident of Rosebud, South Dakota, has been charged with a serious sex crime. According to sources, Iron Shooter has been indicted by a federal grand jury for Sexual Abuse of a Minor.
Iron Shooter, 21, is accused of engaging in a sexual act with a minor who had not yet reached the age of 16. The alleged abuse is said to have taken place between January 1, 2012, and January 31, 2012.
The maximum penalty if convicted is up to 15 years in custody and/or a $250,000 fine, up to life of supervised release, and $100 to the Federal Crime Victims Fund. Restitution may also be ordered.
Iron Shooter is being held in custody pending trial, which has yet to be scheduled. He was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service after appearing before U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno on March 7, 2014.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Meghan N. Dilges, with the investigation being conducted by the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
The charge is merely an accusation, and Iron Shooter is presumed innocent until proven guilty. A trial date has not been set, but Grimy Times will continue to follow this story and provide updates as more information becomes available.
