A convicted rapist in Alabama has been sentenced to 30 months in prison for violating the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act.
Russell Lee Stanley, 46, was convicted of Forcible Sexual Intercourse – Rape on October 3, 2011 in Harrison County, Mississippi.
As a result of his conviction, Stanley was required to register as a sex offender in any county where he resides or works.
However, upon his release in 2022, Stanley failed to re-register as required in Mobile, Alabama, where he had been residing and working since May 2023.

The United States Marshals Service investigated the case, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Tandice H. Blackwood prosecuted the case on behalf of the United States.
