Bank Robbery Rocks Manchester Neighborhood
A brazen bank robbery shook the Manchester community when Ryan Freeman, 27, stormed into the TD Bank on South River Road in Bedford, New Hampshire, on July 26, 2015.
According to court filings and statements made at the change of plea hearing, Freeman entered the bank and approached a teller, demanding $10,000. He threatened to blow her brains out if she did not comply.
The teller, fearing for her safety, provided the money to Freeman, and he left the bank in a gold Volvo. Witnesses later saw him abandon the vehicle near Exit 4 on Interstate 293.
Images from the bank clearly established that Freeman committed the robbery, and he was later apprehended by authorities.
Freeman, a Manchester resident, pleaded guilty to one count of bank robbery in federal court. He is set to be sentenced on March 1, 2017, at 11:00 a.m.
The case was investigated by the Bedford Police Department, the Manchester Police Department, the New Hampshire State Police Forensics Laboratory, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant United States Attorney Don Feith prosecuted the case.
Freeman’s fate now hangs in the balance as he awaits sentencing. The people of Manchester hope that justice will be served and that the community can begin to heal from the trauma of the robbery.
The exact sentence Freeman will receive remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: justice will be served. The people of New Hampshire demand accountability for those who commit heinous crimes like bank robbery.
