Sapulpa Woman Pleads Guilty to Methamphetamine Conspiracy

A 37-year-old Sapulpa woman has pleaded guilty to methamphetamine conspiracy in a federal court in Oklahoma. Latisha Dawn Arnold faces a nonparoleable sentence of not less than 10 years or more than Life imprisonment, up to a $10,000,000.00 fine or both.

According to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, Arnold pleaded guilty to drug conspiracy in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Sections 846, 841(a)(1) and 841(b)(1)(A). The charges stem from a joint investigation by the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, the Tahlequah Police Department, the Muskogee Police Department, the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

The investigation, coordinated by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) of the Eastern District of Oklahoma, alleges that Arnold combined, conspired, confederated and agreed with others to possess with intent to distribute and distribute 500 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine, a Schedule II Controlled Substance.

The charges arose from a period of time spanning from the end of 2013 to January 27, 2016, in the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Assistant United States Attorney Shannon Henson represented the United States in the case.

The Honorable Kimberly E. West, Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, accepted the plea and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report. The defendant will remain in the custody of the United States Marshals Service pending transportation to the designated federal facility to serve this nonparoleable sentence.

Arnold’s guilty plea is a significant blow to the methamphetamine trade in eastern Oklahoma. Law enforcement officials have been working tirelessly to dismantle the networks responsible for distributing the highly addictive substance in the region.
