SAQUENA GRIFFIN, a 34-year-old New Orleans woman known as ‘Queenie,’ is staring down federal prison time after being indicted on charges of conspiring to receive and pay illegal Medicare kickbacks. The scheme funneled $378,274 in taxpayer funds to Comprehensive Nursing and Home Health Service, Inc., a home health agency on Earhart Boulevard, where Griffin worked as a recruiter and marketer.
According to the indictment unsealed today, Griffin abused her position by steering Medicare beneficiaries to Comprehensive in exchange for illicit payments. These kickbacks violated federal anti-fraud statutes designed to protect public healthcare programs from exploitation. Each referral was a calculated move to profit off government dollars meant for patient care, not personal gain.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Louisiana, led by U.S. Attorney Kenneth A. Polite, confirmed the charges. Polite emphasized that while the indictment marks a critical step, it remains a formal accusation—Griffin’s guilt must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
If convicted, GRIFFIN faces a maximum of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. The severity of the potential sentence reflects the federal government’s aggressive stance against healthcare fraud, particularly schemes that exploit vulnerable patients and erode trust in medical institutions.
The investigation was carried out by Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, whose groundwork laid the foundation for prosecution. Their probe peeled back layers of deception, tracking financial flows and referral patterns that pointed squarely at Griffin’s role in the conspiracy.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Patrice Harris Sullivan is leading the prosecution. As the case moves forward, federal authorities are sending a clear message: those who treat Medicare like a piggy bank will be hunted down, charged, and held accountable.
