ALBANY, NEW YORK – In a gritty development, Jabree Jones, also known as ‘Breezy,’ aged 33 from Schenectady, New York, has entered a guilty plea for drug trafficking and firearm crimes. The charges include conspiracy to distribute fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine, as well as possessing firearms in furtherance of his drug trafficking.
The acting United States Attorney John A. Sarcone III, along with Frank A. Tarentino III from the DEA and Bryan Miller from the ATF, announced the plea. Jones’ involvement spanned a conspiracy from January to May 2023, including eleven drug distributions and possession of drugs on May 23, 2023.
On that fateful day, law enforcement officials uncovered a cache of 34 firearms, including an illegal machinegun, at a property in Albany where they found Brandon Bartley, one of Jones’ coconspirators. They also seized over 400 grams of fentanyl pills, more than 7,000 grams of methamphetamine pills, and over 700 grams of cocaine. Another property in Halfmoon revealed another 11 kilograms of fentanyl pills and five firearms with Anthony Luizzi, another suspect.
Tragically, the investigation took a grim turn when Anthony Zaremski was shot and killed during the execution of a federal search warrant at his apartment in Clifton Park after he opened fire on two officers.
John Sarcone emphasized the significant impact of Jones’ actions on the Capital Region, noting the multi-agency partnership that dismantled this influential drug and gun ring. DEA Special Agent Tarentino highlighted the commitment to protecting communities from such individuals and their deadly consequences, while ATF Special Agent Miller underscored the impact of firearms trafficking and drug distribution.
Sentencing for Jones is set for December 19, 2025, with a potential life sentence, fines up to $10 million, and supervised release term of at least five years. Anthony Luizzi has also pled guilty to drug and gun crimes in connection with the investigation.
