Now, Joseph Allen Davis, 19, of Sacramento, is facing federal charges after a grand jury indictment revealed he’s a convicted felon illegally packing heat. U.S. Attorney Eric Grant announced the one-count indictment today, sending a clear message: repeat offenders will face the full weight of the law.
The investigation began immediately after the shooting, with Davis quickly identified as a suspect. A subsequent search of his apartment turned up a short-barrel AR-15-style pistol, a weapon he had absolutely no legal right to possess. Court documents confirm Davis previously snagged a felony conviction for – you guessed it – gun possession. This wasn’t his first rodeo.
