Anthony Devine, Methamphetamine Distribution, Pennsylvania 2025

WILLIAMSPORT – In a gritty turn of events, Anthony Devine, 35, of Benton, Pennsylvania, has been slammed with federal charges for distributing methamphetamine. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania revealed that Devine was indicted by a federal grand jury on July 24, 2025, for his alleged activities.

The indictment, which came to light following Devine’s initial appearance and arraignment on August 18, 2025, accuses him of distributing more than five grams of methamphetamine in Columbia County on or about May 30, 2024. Additionally, he is charged with distributing over 50 grams of the drug on June 5, 2024.

Acting United States Attorney John C. Gurganus emphasized that this case is part of a larger operation. Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at eliminating cartels and transnational criminal organizations, has been instrumental in bringing Devine to justice. This operation consolidates efforts from the Department’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).

The Pennsylvania State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation that led to these charges. Assistant U.S. Attorney Alisan V. Martin is now handling the prosecution.

Under federal law, each offense carries a maximum penalty of life imprisonment, a fine, and supervised release after serving time. However, as with all indictments, Devine is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

The grimy streets of Benton have been touched by this high-stakes case, as the community looks on with bated breath for the judicial outcome.
