Schuele Boys’ Robbins Gets 2 Years for Coke Run
BUFFALO, N.Y. – Another cog in the Schuele Boys machine is headed to federal prison. Demario Robbins, 26, of Buffalo, was sentenced to 24 months behind bars today after being convicted of conspiracy to distribute cocaine, Acting U.S. Attorney James P. Kennedy, Jr. announced.
The sentencing, handed down by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara, reveals Robbins wasn’t just a bystander. According to Assistant U.S. Attorney George C. Burgasser, who prosecuted the case, Robbins actively participated in the Schuele Boys’ drug operation. He allegedly purchased cocaine from a fellow gang member and then broke it down into smaller, street-ready quantities for resale throughout Buffalo.
The Schuele Boys, notorious for operating out of the Schuele Street area on Buffalo’s East Side, are more than just a street gang. Law enforcement believes they’re responsible for a string of violent acts and a steady flow of narcotics – cocaine, crack, and marijuana – into the city’s underbelly. This case isn’t about a single transaction; it’s about dismantling a network that preys on the community.
Robbins is just one of 28 individuals – gang members, associates, and others – swept up in this federal investigation. So far, 19 have been convicted, signaling a significant crackdown on the Schuele Boys’ operations. While charges are merely accusations until proven guilty, the growing number of convictions paints a grim picture of the gang’s reach.
The investigation, spearheaded by the FBI’s Safe Streets Task Force under Special Agent-in-Charge Adam S. Cohen, underscores the continued federal focus on dismantling organized crime in Western New York. This wasn’t a quick bust; it was a methodical takedown built on solid police work.
With Robbins now facing two years in prison, the feds are sending a clear message: dealing in death – and profiting from it – comes with a steep price. This case remains open, and further convictions are expected as authorities continue to unravel the Schuele Boys’ criminal enterprise. Contact Barbara Burns at (716) 843-5817 for further information.
