Scott Frederick Arterbury, 31, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, is staring down a federal prison sentence after being indicted on charges of possessing child pornography. Federal authorities say Arterbury was found in possession of graphic image files and videos depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct — evidence gathered through a coordinated probe by the FBI and Broken Arrow Police Department.
The indictment, returned by a federal grand jury in March 2018, alleges Arterbury knowingly possessed and stored illicit material involving children. Each count carries a maximum penalty of 20 years behind bars and a $250,000 fine. The charges do not allege production or distribution, but possession alone triggers severe federal penalties under U.S. law.
Arterbury’s arrest underscores the aggressive posture federal prosecutors are taking in child exploitation cases, even when suspects are not accused of producing or sharing the material.
