A Seekonk man was sentenced to 10+ years in prison for his role in child pornography.
Sean J. Trahan, 45, was sentenced by U.S. Senior District Court Judge George A. O’Toole Jr. to 126 months in prison and five years of supervised release.
Trahan was convicted following two separate investigations into his child pornography activities.
On Oct. 19, 2021, Trahan pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of child pornography and one count of access with intent to view child pornography.
Trahan was convicted after a search of his residence revealed images of child pornography on his personal computer in October 2015.
He was arrested and charged in October 2015 and released on conditions, including cell phone monitoring.
On Sept. 8, 2021, he was arrested for violating conditions of his release and has remained in custody since then.
Assistant U.S. Attorney James D. Herbert of Rachael S. Rollins’ Criminal Division prosecuted the case.
This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse, launched in May 2006.
Trahan’s sentence reflects the severity of the crimes he committed and the harm caused to victims of child pornography.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office and law enforcement agencies will continue to work together to bring perpetrators of child exploitation to justice.
